If you only applied on AMCAS, you will not be a reapplicant for TMDSAS.
Are you a Texas resident?
If you are, your best chances are at the TMDSAS schools anyhow so save lots of money and only apply to TMDSAS in 2025.
Yes, it will look foolish to list 50 AMCAS schools on your Texas app, but so be it.
Is your personal and financial situation stable enough to apply now?

- I am a Texas resident.
- I will have enough to apply next cycle on the first day. I also understand I will be a first-time applicant to TMDSAS. I will also be applying to schools on AMCAS. I am starting a new job where I can save more.

How much of the applying so much last cycle will hurt me? Could it be the reason I don't get in anywhere?

I am wondering if, in spite of all the work I put in with an MCAT, post-bacc, etc, this could have cost me my future.

I have to start planning on doing something else if it really is that bad.
It is not that bad, don't even make it a centerpoint of your essays unless asked about it. Don't use it as a failure essay, maybe mention it if you have to write a financial hardship type secondary essay.
Lots of people have "life happen to them" and need to be reapplicants. Focus on your good points and goals in your essays and good luck this time!

I would recommend only applying to the Texas schools. We have 15 of them. 85% of Texas applicants who get in stay in Texas, and the ones who get in OOS usually have a sky high MCAT 520ish or are applying MD/PhD
