My thought is that you're going to feel guilty either way, so pick the one that makes you happiest.

Either you feel guilty for taking money (that you intend to pay back), or you fell guilty for splitting up T and J (which you can't get back).

But if you stay local now for T and J that doesn't mean you'll be able to/want to for residency. So this will likely come up again in four years.

So that takes me back to- pick the one that will make you happiest. Guilt is a given and there will be sacrifices made either way. Which sacrifices can you personally live with?

I admire you thinking so long and hard about this - I can tell your family is lucky to have you!

I think you should accept the support and go to Georgetown.

In your position, it’s an easy Georgetown. Don’t overthink it. It’s a bummer to take money from family, but to be frank, it sounds like they’re going to be okay if they had the means to pay for private high school and undergrad. Pay them back later, but these are invaluable, formative years for your kids and family.
