What are u asking here? If youre just now wanting to do surgery being in the middle of your clerkship year youre going to have to completely commit and start making connections immediately...as for the clerkship comments, its very good of course, but reads like they just plugged your comments into an AI summary machine, no specifics at all.
Your surgery comments are fine. Do well on your remaining clerkship rotations. If you really want surgery, get a mentor, focus on building relationships and work with your home surgery program. If your home program likes you, you are goldened. Your home program is likely well connected and well resourced to help you reach your goal. Surgery is not that difficult to match, especially coming from a mid-tear MD school if you continue to put in the work. Don't sweat it too much and enjoy your medical school journey.

Agree with the others your surgery comments are excellent. They definitely plugged your comments into an AI, but clearly they were all quite good. Mspe comments don’t really get better than what you’ve posted here.
The comments that will matter will come in your letters. People have to sign their own name to your letters and if you suck they will have to answer for it to their colleagues later on. Hopefully you started building good relationships with attendings that matter. Start networking which means doing some research and being reliable and productive. Keep building your skills and be ready to bring the good on your sub I when the time comes.
Your strongest match potential is always your home program so cultivate that as best you can. Strive to be at the top of their rank list so you know you won’t fall below that on your own list. Obviously the most beloved home students also tend to have the best letters.

Reading my post back to myself, I think I just got scared after reading that article about how anything short of “X is the best student I’ve ever seen” is bad and hearing my peers talk about how much the attendings loved them/were already offering letters. I definitely have a lot to work on and need to focus on that instead of others, so I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction!Agree with the others your surgery comments are excellent.
