Sooo yeah. Took the DAT, but got a 17 in RC. I'm so mad. Do any of you know if I'm essentially screened out of most schools? I have no idea what the cutoffs are. My scores are below. I'll be posting a full breakdown over in the DAT forum, but I wanted all your opinions. Has anyone here received interviews with such a low RC score?

PA - 18
QR - 19
RC - 17
Bio - 22
GC - 24
OC - 21

TS - 22
AA - 21

I say you're fine. Except maybe for Howard who wants all 18s.

18 RC, i have 4 interviews so far out of 5 schools i applied to. You will be perfectly fine 👍

Nate-Tufts and BU are reasonable targets. I knew another Mass resident who got into Tufts with a below average RC.

Thanks for the encouragement. What had (has) me concerned is the spreadsheet out there that was compiled from the survey that had schools ranks each DAT section based on the importance. The vast majority of schools have RC as "very important", and the average score for schools is usually 20-21 for that section. I'm way below the mean in a "very important" section, which is why I'm panicking. I know there's SDNitis, but I felt this was more warranted, ha.

I can totally empathize on this, got an 18RC myself. But I've come to terms with it by looking at my application as a whole.

Just think of the whole application process like a cake baking contest:

Bottom layer of cake: DAT
Top layer of cake: GPA
Icing: EC, LORs, etc.
Presentation: Interview
Judges: Adcoms
Prize: Acceptance

Awesome cake+Awesome Presentation=Awesome Acceptance

Hopes this helps buddy👍
