Hey guys I'm a student at UVA, and recently I got my grades back, and I did less than stellar. I got a B+ in both chem and chem lab ( which my bro who is also pre med immediately means taking a year off after college[ he got A+ in both]). I got an A- in a psych class, A in calc class, and I am coming in with A's in both Bio 1 and 2, and bio lab 1 and 2.
my GPA is currently not doing so well and I am worried these B+'s will just kill me. I am currently doing volunteer work and will be joining a nueroscience lab next semester for a credit. Other than this I am not really to involved in other groups, but I do plan to go to more meetings and actively participate in the groups I am in. I was hoping to apply to the neuroscience undergrad program here, but it is extremely competitive and the bro( who is also in this program) says this completely takes me out of even being competitive (besides doing research so early)
I was wondering what you guys think? This semester I completely screwed up taking a Buddhism class( taught by a harvard bad as$ ta who graded really hard- i have yet to know what I got in this clas). Also I plan to get a 4.0 next semester, I kinda didn't know studying at college was much more needed than in high school. Do you guys think I can turn myself around?
What other opitions do I have if I do take a year off- considering that I will graduate with either a neuroscience(not likely) or biology degree?
thanks guys, I feel terrible cause I had an A average in Chem and I was sure I was gonna get an A, but then the exam came and I got under the average which I never ever do, and so I am pissed off at myself for not having done more to prepare.( Next semester get ready to get your as$ beat!!)
