No. My new cGPA after post bacc is a 2.93.Does your 2.7 GPA include your post bac grades?
If you take enough additional undergraduate level science courses this semester to raise your cGPA to 3.0 it would help significantly.No. My new cGPA after post bacc is a 2.93.
Noted. I believe that I need 3-4 courses at 4.0 to accomplish this. I am not in a rush either. I can take all of next year to get this done instead of rushing things. If you take enough additional undergraduate level science courses this semester to raise your cGPA to 3.0 it would help significantly.
That’s actually good news. Before applying, take a few additional courses and get your GPA up to over 3.0. You have no idea how much that would help.No. My new cGPA after post bacc is a 2.93.
Thanks for taking the time to read my profile.I agree with Faha in general. Your profile screams for public health but not for "physician." You only shadowed a surgeon, but medicine is more than that. I'm presuming you have a lot of insight on the healthcare system from your employment and clinical experiences with patients, but it's not clear how much you have had with observing doctors with patients. (What did you do as a scribe?)
Have you connected with mentoring organizations for aspiring Black physicians? We post about that in the URM subforum here.
Thanks for the reassurance. According to a GPA calculator, that would mean 3-4 courses at 4.0. My last semester of post bacc was 15 credit hours (5 courses) with all As leading to a 4.0. I believe I can get a 4.0 in 3-4 more courses over this summer and next year. That’s actually good news. Before applying, take a few additional courses and get your GPA up to over 3.0.
