I'm applying to Anesthesiology for the 2014 match (US IMG) with future plans of going into critical care. I am currently doing 4th year electives in the US, and I just had a quick question about my American LORs:

I'll have one Anesthesia-specific LOR from an Anesth/Crit Care attending as well as one general LOR from a different Anesth/Crit Care attending from the same SICU 4-week elective. Is it weird to use 2 letters from the same elective from different attendings?

Also, is October too late to be doing my general Anesthesia elective if I get the LOR in late October?

It's not weird to get 2 LOR from one elective. The readers will probably not know when you got your letters.

I think october is too late for a LOR.

Ok thanks... I guess I'm just worried about what program directors will think if my LORs will be from anesthesiology sub-specialities vs general anesthesia but I guess they will still be letters from anesthesiologists
