I graduated two springs ago from the University of Arizona and this is my third cycle applying and am pretty nervous!!

31Q MCAT
3.55 cGPA, 3.3 BCPM (2.7/3.2 Junior year)
2 degrees (physiology and psychology) and 3 minors (biology, chemistry, business administration).
3 years of cancer research (no publications)
3 years of hospice work
3 years of campus EMT work (holding a leadership position in the organization)
50 hours of shadowing 5 doctors
3 years active member of Pre-Med club
2 years I have been working for a neurologist as his personal clinical assistant hands on with patients
My community service involves going to Boy Scout troops and teaching them first aid and emergency preparedness. (Got into this because I am an Eagle Scout and I have done the event 3 times)

Since submitting AMCAS this last cycle I have done a bit of neurology research while I will be 5th author as well as working as a Scribe in the ER and continuing clinical work in Neurology and EMS. I have taken 1 class each semester (public health and science).

I got a D (physics 1) and 2 C's (cellular physiology) during a year of hardship, retook Physics over the summer at community college and got an A.

(LOR's are good-average, 1 MD/PHD I've done 2 years clinic work with, PHD I preceptored for, PHD I took her class, and boss in EMS)

Side Note: I know I should apply to more schools, but the truth is I didn't qualify for the fee waivers and this is all I could afford...

Forget U NE unless you're a resident there....ditto Wayne State. I would have recommended Quinnipiac instead. Otherwise, good list. Work on your interview skills.

Overall anyone have an idea what the chances are for the MD schools or the DO schools?

Agree with Goro's comments on Nebraska and Wayne State. If you can come up with the extra cash, it would be worth applying to Quinnipiac, Oakland Beaumont, Western Michigan, and St. Louis.

Out of curiosity, is this your first year applying to DO schools?

Man, your stats seem great man... I think with all of those attributes you should have been accepted.

You might also want to consider Albany.
I'm curious but have you also a Masters or post bacc? Perhaps the BCPM and science GPA could be what the schools are looking at?

Regardless you are definitely in better than great shape for MD's and DO's as well.

nm825: Yes this is my first time applying D.O, hopefully that doesn't look bad to them?

themelofellow: I've starting taking a few post bac classes, but due to financial inability I'm usually just taking one class per semester of either public health or life science classes

I applied to Albany last year and was stuck pre-interview. I originally thought that the list I applied for would be generally within range of acceptability =/

Chances look good. Honestly, consider taking out a loan to try and apply to 5-10 more schools. I know it's a lot of money. But this may be your last shot to apply [to MD schools].
