Hey guys,

So I'm a dental student planning on taking the NBME in 2 weeks in order to get into OMFS residency. Just wondering what is recommended to cover 2 weeks before the exam. Are questions more crucial than covering material in first aid?

BTW
I average around 55% for uworld.

Thanks!

My advice would be to apply to nursing school instead and for 2 reasons: 1) they are right next door so you would be able to find it pretty easy, I think. 2) you seem like the nursing type.

Honestly, I think you should focus on Periodontics and Cariology. On the test they might ask you to calculate attachment loss, and you DONT wanna miss those questions.

is this the school administered CBSE you're taking? didn't know dental students took that for OMFS

if it's anything like step1 then just hit FA, UW, and pathoma HAM for the next 2 weeks. i would also take as many NBME's as you can since those are written by the same organization and come from the same question pool and some questions repeat word-for-word on the real deal step1 so they probably do on the CBSE as well. especially the newer ones like 12, 13, 15 since those are probably more representative of current questions than older NBME's.

good luck!

Hello ,
I Hope you did well in your exam . I plan to take the NBME BSE in February 2014. Kindly suggest reading material for the preparation. I plan to use the following, please approve or suggest new ones,
Pathoma book,
Uworld for USMLE - part 1
First Aid ( this one I am not sure, should I use FA for part-1 or is there another book)

Thank you for your input, and good luck in your applications
