I did maybe 20% of Rx before switching to Uworld after spring break. Now I've done all of Uworld except for our last bit of path, a lot of pharm and biochem. Things I will really need to look over during my dedicated period before doing them in Uworld.

I was thinking of finishing Rx during my first 2 weeks of dedicated study and then switching back to Uworld to complete what I haven't done, and do it again. I feel like I need something to show me first aid again besides just reading it. I am also the type of person who will recognize questions just because I've seen them before (danger of doing Uworld like 3 times).

So do you think I should just do Uworld 3 times or do Rx + Uworld twice? I did take notes on everything I didn't know in Uworld and am going to review it.

I think if you do Rx after uworld you will find it to be quite useless and repetitive and a waste of time. It doesn't really show you first aid in the way you think it would do. It simply explains the question (not very well compared to uworld) then copies a page from first aid related to that question.

I suggest you do uworld another one more time, see the questions that you still struggle to understand, and understand why you still have a problem with and fix it. Also keep referring to first aid and try reading or memorising (repetition is good) the section related to the questions in uworld.

Doing uworld a third time would be a waste of time, so instead I suggest in this time you study first aid and start doing NBME's

Right now I am doing uworld random; and in order to "keep in touch" with my first aid I try to refer to my first aid on every question i read explanation to (except for very easy ones or ones I already looked at before in another question). I did Rx a long time ago,and I found it repetitive and not very helpful

Thanks, I like that plan! I will maybe be more deliberate about my uworld questions during my dedicated study than I have been. And focus on marked questions and difficult concepts in the last week after I finish my second pass of Uworld.

I think Rx is worth doing. I'm just starting Uworld, and the explanations are better, but it doesn't make doing 2700 questions from Rx useless or a waste of time by any means. I'm still trying to figure out what it is that makes people on here so in love with Uworld but have such disdain for Rx...maybe it'll hit me in the next few weeks. I also don't think that Rx is as repetitive as the previous poster indicated, but I did it all on random mode (I'm guessing maybe it's more repetitive if you do it by subjects?).

Anyways, if you have the time, and you're already covering Uworld 2x then I definitely recommend you do Rx.

Agreed. Last year's threads really seemed to cast it in a good light. I think it definitely helped me hammer some stuff down early on, and will try and wrap it up before my test for sure.

Well although we might argue whether Rx is a good Q bank for someone who hasn't done any Q bank yet, I really see that doing Rx after uworld is really pointless. and it starts to show as I do more Q's in Uworld. Uworld has already covered many concepts already covered by Rx(along with much more new concepts) but in a better and more thorough way.

All the facts you need for USMLE are in first aid and Uworld. and if you wanna test yourself with new question do NBME's.

Thanks. Yeah the more I think about it the less conflicted I am about not going back to Rx. I think my biggest challenge during these five weeks is to actually hammer out my weaknesses, and if I only focus on Uworld I will have time to do that. I am a pretty good test taker (read: guesser) so I think my weakness is really going to be did I learn which antibiotic goes with what or those acid base equations.
