20 AA but 18 TS. Is the TS too low?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
A lot of the schools require 17 or higher in every subject, 20AA with 18 TS means you really dominated in RC and QR. It all depends on your overall GPA.

Biomedical Science with a concentration in Oral biology. It's the one at Rutgers and I'm currently taking actual dental courses alongside the dental students (biochem and oral immunology) and I'm pretty certain I'll be able to get a 4.0.

I'm no adcom but that's pretty damn good. You are certainly capable of handling dental school academically. I would think you would be able to get interviews since you have proven yourself with the masters. Regarding the DAT, if you are above 17 in all sections you should be okay. Maybe call the schools you are interested in?

Alright and when you call schools like this to ask questions, which contact info should I be looking for?

APPLY EARLY. like June 1. Or make consider re-taking if you plan on applying later in the cycle. Just my opinion based on my own experiences (kicking myself)

Some people will say you are too low, some will say you are just fine. Personally, I would call the schools that you will apply to and see what they have to say.....Good luck

I usually ask for the dean of admissions, an admissions committee or an admissions adviser. Just be sure to state your name and be courteous.

I agree with Dental Longhorn adding another bit of advice, if I school you are applying to is in your local area there is nothing wrong with making an in person visit. If you are lucky you will have an opportunity to speak to someone face to face.

Would you mind posting your individual scores, it is easier for me to advise if I have that information.

take care..Nancy

Yup definitley going to apply ASAP. But I have a question. When people say apply early, does that just mean filling out the information on the AADSAS application when it opens? Don't I also need to have my LORs, official transcripts, etc and does that mean having all of this done by june 1st as well?

Yeah unfortunatley I don't think I'll be able to make it in person because I'm currently in a Masters and won't be home until I'm done applying but here are my scores:

Bio 20
QR 21
RC 23
PAT 19
OC 18
GC 18
AA 20
TS 18

Very nice scores and very consistent, schools like that! Working our your Masters obtaining a 4.0 GPA shows the dental schools you are a hard working student and will do what it takes to get into dental school. Make sure your personal statement is well written and well thought out, personal references are good, have volunteer service on your application and I honestly see no reason you would not receive an interview. None of your scores were low, none! You should be very proud of your achievement in your Masters program and also your DAT Scores.

Some schools will still look at you without your LOR being in or your transcripts validated which will take some time after you've submitted your requests. You'll have to ask by school. Maryland doesn't move forward until your initial packet is complete.

I am in the same program.
actually we are in the same immunology class loool
u are fine. if you get 4.0, rutgers would take you right away.
don't stress out, and don't listen to those negative people
