Having watched both this forum and the DAT forum for the last year or so, I doubt I've seen over one hundred posts listing stats and scores from those who are applying to dental schools for the 2007 cycle. I'm sure there have been more, maybe even twice as many - but that's still only a couple hundred people who are applying for one out of about 5K available seats next year. Is this forum just a representation of the over-zealous applicants or are we more respresentative of the general pool? Could it be that we're actually the best of the pack, or just some forum-addicted nail biters looking for a sign that we're actually going to make it? I guess I really want to know how someone committed to going to dental school would have jumped through all the hoops without the resources and advice offered on this site.

At any rate, I thought I'd post my stats - maybe we could get a running thread with the stats of all 2007 applicants just to see how many people from this forum are looking for one of those sought-after seats. Copy and paste, then add your stuff onto the next number in line. Good luck to everyone applying.

I think www.predents.com does a good job holding everyone's stats and application status. Perhaps we can just look at our fellow applicants there?

Good point. Unfortunately, you can't see all the applicants on the same page over there - if you have another suggestion on how to do that, please let me know. In the meantime, what have we got to lose listing it here, too?

predents.com is, like these forums, only a small slice of the applicants. very few predents actually post stats on predents.com and most are also members of the SDN forums too, so we are not an accurate representation of the applicant pool.

SDN, imho, represents two types.

1. People freaking out about their chances, because they are overachievers.
2. People freaking out about their chances, because they are borderline applicants.

either way, we are all freaks 😉
