I can't see how those shapes make smooth lines that look like parts of a triangle.

Can someone explain this to me?
I believe the smoothed lines are b/c the angles between each triangle are so big, so it's not really that the shapes make smooth lines per se, but that the angles are so big they are nearing 180 degrees.
Not sure if that made sense or if that is correct, but that's how I see it - hopefully someone else can chime in too 🙂.
