I have a quick question for you folks. I will be applying for the 2008 cycle and am in the middle of a post bac. I have a 4.0 now in the program and expect to finish with a 4.0. My question is I am planning on finishing it up in the fall and will be taking courses in the summer. Do I need to go ahead and submit it early without all of the grades and just talk about it in my personal statement, or do I need to wait until I am through with the program.
Thanks,
Dr. Guitar

I think you can go a head and send your transcript as is. You can always send an updated transcript later.

Does anyone know of any schools that looks favorably on the post bacs?
Thanks,

Thanks,

As with any graduate program, most schools should look favorably upon an increasing trend in your grades.

Thanks,

I forgot to mention:

I have a friend who graduated with a low GPA (3.0-ish); took a graduate studies program and did well; and ended up at his first choice for medical school. Therefore, with hard work and dedication, it can be done.

I would assume it depends on area of study as well. A 4.0 in english is not same as 4.0 in electrical engineering

Hey Rusky, my post bac is all upper level science courses.... Biochem, A & P, Physics...... So does anyone know which schools look favorably on post bac's?
Thanks,

i would venture to say that all schools look kindly on continued education. as for applying send your app in asap starting in may make sure you take the DAT asap and also have everything together (lors mainly). you can mention in your PS that you are still finishing up but you probably wont interview until you are done with your stuff. so goodluck
