Hey everyone this for those who applied to the CCLCM program through CASE University.

There are a few differences and extra essays for these two schools so I thought I would separate the questions a bit

OK,

Let's start this thread:

Has ANYONE received an invitation for CCLCM yet?

I think it is worth asking explicitly at this point since this Case and CCLCM have been a combined thread up until now...

I think they start deliberating at the end of the month for interview invites, but I am not 100% sure more like 85%.

OK.

Just wanted to clarify for everybody who is out there.
I assume, although it isn't stated, on the Case Western thread that those invited for interviews didn't apply CCLCM...

good because I was down there the other day for a work interview and saw medical school interviewers.

That makes me feel better

I received a CCLCM invitation today!

for the research essay, are they asking about just one research experience in particular or kind of like an overview of all the research you've done?

Complete 7/23, Interview invite 8/5

Have to say I am a critic jeron, you have very few posts. Plus CCLMer said that interview invites wouldn't come out for awhile. Also if you get an interview from CCLM you get one from case...

Hm I don't think someone would lie about these things to bother the rest of us, or could they?

Well if his mdapps is correct, I wouldn't doubt he got an interview at CCLCM.

I'm glad someone believes in me. 🙂 Actually, I may have gotten a CCLCM invite earlier than others because I applied MSTP as well. It seems like applying MSTP changes the timeline of all of the interview invites.

yea why would he lie? the mstp thing absolutely makes sense since I'd guess its a longer interview day(s)

I just emailed Dean Franco to ask whether any invites have gone out, so I'll let you all know what she says.

I didn't think this was necessarily true... isn't it possible to get an interview from CCLCM but not case UP?
Yes. It's not all or none. You can get an invite from both programs, UP only, CCLCM only, or neither.

I don't know why applying MSTP would make any difference for our program, and I don't think any invites have gone out yet. But if I am wrong, I will come back here tomorrow and vindicate you. 🙂

could anyone answer my question bout the research essay? are they asking you to describe one research experience or all of your research experience? th question just seemed kinda vague to me.

I wrote mine about one particular study which really got me interested in research. Since they ask for hypothesis, method, results, etc it might be better to choose a particular experience which you can elaborate on. This is just my opinion, though.

I second this.

Jeron,

Congratulations! I for one wish you the best of luck in your interview. Can you tell us any information about your invite? I'd be curious to hear the details, if you wouldn't mind sharing?

Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine interviews are conducted at the Cleveland Clinic on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays of each week. Your interview day will include an initial discussion regarding the College curriculum and a tour of the College facilities. We will also show short videos of our problem based learning groups and our assessment process. You will be guided on a tour of our research labs, the hospital, and the Cleveland Clinic campus. After lunch, you will have three interviews, two with members of the Admissions Committee and one with a current CCLCM student.

The College Track interview day commences at 7:45 a.m. and concludes at 3:40 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Our full tuition scholarship and financial aid will be discussed before an optional wrap-up session with students from 3:40 – 4:00 p.m. to answer any final questions you may have regarding the program. We realize some applicants may need to leave after their interviews in order to catch a flight out the same day.

Also, they told me that interview begin on September 28th, like the university program.

But you might want to verify that with someone else, some here don't trust me.

i think its cuz jeron rhymes with lebron, so at least cleveland has a backup for 2010

I think you nailed it on the head, Brooklynblunder. It's all in the name.

But in all seriousness, I am just as confused as everyone else that I seem to be the only one who has heard from the CCLCM. I am excited to hear what you have to say today, CCLCMer. Thanks for keeping us all well informed!

I told them about two projects. the first one I mentioned quickly so they know I did it and everything. the second research experience I told them about I mad it a bit longer since it was my own original research. and then I gave short paragraph about why both experiences led me to research etc.

Copy of my message in the all-Case thread:

You are right, and I am sorry for suggesting you were playing a prank. But I got you some info that may help solve your confusion if you didn't already get it from the office. Dean Franco and Susan said that they are trying to coordinate invites this year with the UP, but sometimes the invites still don't get sent out at the same time. Apparently things get extra screwed up with the coordination efforts if you apply MSTP also. What you should do is call the other programs and ask them about your status before choosing your interview date for CCLCM.

For everyone else, four invites were sent out earlier this week, including jeron's, and they will be sending out more. Some new reviewers were just trained this week, so now the reviews should start going faster. Sept. 28 is the first interview day. If you applied to both programs and don't hear from both of them at once, you should call the other program and find out your status so that your interviews can be coordinated.

As for the confusion and earlier-than-normal invites, it turns out that Dean Franco is going out of town in early September, plus Susan is leaving later this month, so they are trying to get the invites sent out a few weeks ahead of schedule. When I told Dean Franco that I had been skeptical of jeron, she laughed and said it was because I didn't expect the admissions office could be this efficient. Which is true, but in my defense, understandable based on their past performance. 😳

Anyway, hope this clears everything up, and congrats to everyone who got invites, including you, jeron. 🙂

Sorry about not believing you before jeron. Congrats on your interview!

Jeron,
Oh, I think it was obvious I never doubted you! 🙂 I was one of the first to give you a congrats! Now you can return the favor! Got both my Case and CCLCM invite today!

What are the CCLCM essays not required for the Case UP application?

So...I forgot about Jeron...the first person invited for an interview...looks like he's going MSTP. He was accepted at a few programs including Wash U...and withdrew from CCLCM...OK...the one excuse for withdrawing here....maybe 🙂

Congrats, Jeron!
