how to explain?

this is what i got from the question...
it says that drug W acts at site Y and NOT at the receptor. So there's NO COMPETITION at the receptor. this results in a diminished effect (ie decreased efficacy), hence, antagonism. An agonist would increase the physiologic effect. Thus, you see noncompetitive antagonism.

maybe someone else can correct/explain it better if this isn't clear.
