Actually, I'm interested in this, too. Only had three weeks to study after summer session ended, so I KNOW I'm not going to be reaching my potential Saturday, but I really wanted to apply for this year.
Let's say we apply, get waitlisted at places, and update with new MCAT scores from the January MCAT. Anybody have any experience/results with this? Has anyone gotten in afterwards, and had schools accept those later scores?

I've discussed this with an Adcom member. They do not use the January exam as criteria for initially evaluating an applicant. But if you have been interviewed in the fall (or early spring) and re-take, they will take this into consideration for the alternative list and could possibly push you towards the front of the list. This is just one example. I'm sure each school handles them differently.
