Hi all. American MS4 applying this year 😀, working on ERAS. Trying to make a list of programs to apply to. I looked at the "Best top 5 neurology programs" thread started back in 2005 but things must have changed since then (program directors, new programs, etc.). Anyone care to offer up a revised top 20-50 programs?

If you can, can you "limit" your recs to states not blacked out in the attached map?

Thanks.

From the interview trail last year I got the vibe that the list provided in the 2005 thread was still pretty accurate -- regarding reputations at least (not that reputations are always true, but they seem to be pretty agreed upon). I think the top ten list definitely varies depending on who you ask, but may include some of the following:

NOT in order:

Mayo Clinic, Colombia, Penn, Partners, Hopkins, UCSF, UCLA, Cleveland Clinic, McGill (yes, I know it is in Canada)... Prob University of Washington (Seattle), BIDMC, WashU, NYU too...

The stronger programs in the Southeast are, in no particular order: UVA (VA), UNC (NC), Duke (NC), Emory (GA), Vanderbilt (TN), and Miami (FL). It looks like you're doing a little of looking all over, these would be my personal "highlights" for the region if you wanted to narrow it down.

Can anyone point out good programs in the Midwest/Western US area?
