This thread is for all those who have been accepted for Fall 2014 or are still waiting for acceptance. How are you filling your FAFSA as an independent student.

(If you have not filled tax returns for 2013, can you use your W2's instead)?

(What kind of aid can we hope to expect?)

(Nd what are some ways to keep the costs down?)

(Advice from pharmacy students who filed in previous years are most welcome!!)

You can file it with your old tax return but you will have to go back and adjust it after you file your tax return.

You can expect to get only stafford loans. Up to 33,000 dollars a year. I always got grants for under grad (since I'm considered low income part time worker) but got zero pell. I don't think you get pell grants for grad school.

I filed as undergrad for P1 and P2 years since I'm doing a 2+4 program. That means I was offered minimal loans since they're not taking into account the increased tuition of pharmacy school.

I maxed out my subsidized loans and declined the other offers since I still have undergrad scholarships and money saved up.
