I know these threads are everywhere, so I do apologize, but I would greatly appreciate any feedback for my prereqs...

undergrad GPA - 3.21
graduate GPA - 3.41 (12 credits remaining, likely to put on hold if admitted to DPT program)
pGPA - 3.0 (less my 'in progress' courses)

Anatomy & Physiology I - C+
A&P II - C
I took both A&P courses my freshman year of college, and my grades unfortunately do reflect my effort.
In addition to these, I took a combined A&P course at my community college last summer when I originally thought I would be applying to their PTA program. I ended up with a B, but I have a feeling this would not be sufficient to replace my 2 precious A&P courses...

Biology I - B (online course taken at community college, included an online lab)
Biology II - in progress and same format at BIO I

Physics I - will be taking this summer
Physics II - will have to take in the fall...

General Chem I - B
Gen Chem II - C+ (probably going to retake this course)

Stats - B

Develop Psych - A-
Abnormal Psych - A

GRE: 148 verb, 148 math, (still waiting for writing score) - planning on retaking 1 or 2 more times to improve scores

LOIs: I have a number of strong references so I'm not worried about this

Observation hours: 300+ hrs at an out-patient clinic that I work at. I am in the process of finding 2-3 more clinic settings to volunteer/shadow at

I reside in VA but am desperately looking to go west or south for school... With my stats I'm not reserving myself to only a handful of schools so I'm looking at about 10-12 schools. Top picks are:
USC, UCF, UF, USF, Uni Miami, Loma Linda, Marymount

Thank you in advanced 🙂

previous*, not precious, and LORs* (It's been a long day) :sour:

I'll be honest with you. Your chances of getting in are very slim unless you retake BOTH A&P classes. Unfortunately, online labs are often not accepted. These are things you need to research before you put the money down for classes. Also, a sub 300 GRE is basically a big no-no. What is your graduate degree in? How much debt are you in from your undergrad and grad career? There are a lot of unknowns with your profile. If you want to inbox me, I'll be glad to help you. I'm not going to sugar coat it for you and I will tell you exactly what you need to do to increase your chances of getting in. Cheers!

I don't think its possible to get into PT school with C's in anatomy and physiology...I have seen people on the forum get into school with C's in the other pre-reqs, but not anatomy and physio. I highly recommend re-taking those 2 classes at your local CC and get an A in them.

There are some schools that don't require the GRE, you may want to look into those programs as well.

Have you double checked the biology class at each school? Schools are strict on online labs. I was able to get away with a bio retake online but I had previously taken and passed an in person lab so my schools ok d it.

My stats were very similar to yours. My hard to hear recommendation is don't apply this year. Put your grad degree on pause. Go back to school full time (or as close as possible) to do a post bac program. In other words, take a full heavy load of every single one of these pre reqs for the next year. When I applied the first time, even though I had retaken a few pre reqs and done well, schools questioned my ability to do well with a full science load. You may be in the same boat. I was able to take 4 classes each semester give or take and work to show I could handle a rigorous load.

The other big thing is on a retake, you need an A. Period. Retaking and getting a B won't help you. So put on the pressure and kick butt!

OP - by "USC", do you mean Univ. of South Carolina, or Univ. of Southern California? The latter is very expensive.

I agree with the other posters, your current stats are not competitive. Some schools may nevertheless take you (I am thinking of South College, a for-profit school in TN) because all they want is your tuition money. Pay attention to total costs, when you apply.
