Hey everyone,

Currently applying to 16 MD and 12 DO programs and have submitted my primaries June 1st, and just received my first secondary from CCOM, which I submitted today, two days later. My concern is that I will be backpacking through Europe for 70 days starting July 22nd and won't be back in the States until September 30th. To anyone that has had previous experience, if say I get an interview request while I'm in Europe, would they give me possible dates and times for the earliest interview/allow me to schedule an interview once I'm back? I'm sure I could communicate with them about me being abroad but just thought I'd ask!

I was in a similar situation last year and got back to the States mid September. In my experience all the schools were willing to work with me and it wasn't really an issue.

That's great to hear man! Yeah it was the only thing on my mind even though it was minor, didn't want anything holding me back before I travel all across Europe. Hope to come back to the States looking forward to some interviews and continue my travels from there haha

I traveled last year August and received an interview invite while I was abroad. My interview was scheduled 4 days after I was set to arrive back home.

I got pretty lucky because this school is notorious for not rescheduling interview invites unless it's an emergency (or something similar). Is your return date set for sure? Most schools let you choose your interview date from a select number of options from a calender but a few assign you one.
