Hey,

Thought I'd start this up for this cycle. Feel free to post interview invite dates, ERAS questions, stats, etc.

I'll start: US MD. Step 1: 250. Step 2: TBD. Clerkships: All Honors, AOA. Research: 6 pubs. Applying to 12 programs.

Good luck everyone!

Preparing to submit ERAS, applying to about 30 programs. I feel like this might be a bit much but I'm not sure where I would like to end up. Here's to spending that $$$

Applied to 34 programs (mostly in the midwest and northeast, with a few in NC where I used to live). My mentor thinks I'm crazy for applying to so many since I'm a US student with decent scores, etc. but I consider myself just average so I'm paranoid. Especially compared to the kind of students that tend to post on this site.

The 15th falls on a Saturday this year...so I'm assuming there probably won't be any invites before Monday the 17th? I'm not sure whether I should be neurotic and check my email constantly that weekend lol.

You’d be surprised, but it does happen! When I applied the 15th was a Sunday, and I had my first invite the Thursday of that week.

Applying to path. Step1 - 242, Step 2: taking in october, Honors: 1 path rotation only lol, not AOA, 2 publications

What is a good list of programs to apply to? Everyone always says apply to high volume but which programs have this? I'm looking to apply to 2 dozen programs.

Look for a program where you will be happy to be at 4 years and maybe longer if you stay for fellowship is MOST important in my opinion.

True in some cases.

If you are gunning for a competitive fellowship like dermpath then staying in the same program for dermpath for fellowship may be your only option.

Definitly go to a different program for surgpath or cytopath to see how things are done differently since 4 years in one place is a long time. Go to a bigger name place.
