2025-2026 Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine (RowanSOM)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My secondary was submitted 9/3 but my MCAT was not received until 10/17 after it posted, and my portal still shows that my letters of rec have not been received and my application is incomplete. The letters of rec were a committee application attached to the AACOMAS application. Should I reach out at this point to see why my application hasn’t been fully processed?
my MCAT posted on the same day and my LORs had not been reviewed until I called them 1-2 weeks ago and they were able to do it over the phone and complete my application during the call. I would reach out, they said they have been understaffed.

Interviewed 11/24 haven’t heard anything. Anyone else in the same boat?
I interviewed on 10/15 and didnt hear back until 11/22. Wouldn't sweat it, they can take a while for some and quick for others. No rhyme or reason.

I agree with maverickca77, I have noticed that it could be anywhere from 2-6 weeks. It is hard to tell when they will get back, but I wouldn’t be worry unless it had been like two months. Especially with the holidays last week. I wouldn’t be surprised if that caused a bit of a delay.

Application completed on 10/16. OOS. Has anyone received an II who applied around the same time?

yes - i received an II as an OOS applicant who was complete on 11/4. they should be sending interviews through early next year so fingers crossed for you

Have any fellow Canadians here received an interview invite yet? They just recently marked my application as complete, so I'm not sure what my chances are this late in the cycle.

there's been a few Canadian acceptances in early Nov if you go back a few pages on SDN!

I'll take a look, thanks! I'm guessing my MCAT score (512) is the reason why it took them so long to even begin reviewing my application. I was fortunate enough to receive an A from another school, but it might be worth waiting a bit to see if Rowan pulls through.

Can I ask what you ended up doing? I just received the invite for the mandatory orientation session, and I recently started a clinical position. I already asked for the day off for my interview, but I don’t think I can request another day. I could join the meeting from my personal laptop while at work, but I wouldn’t be able to turn my camera on. Since it’s two hours long, I might be able to request an early lunch and use my camera for part of it. Would that work?
Yea it’d work, but ideally you guys can call and have it rescheduled if you really need that like others have posted earlier on this page.

when did you receive your ii if you don’t mind me asking?

This is just my opinion, but I found it very helpful to go to the orientation before the interview. It was very informative, especially re: research opportunities, and I did bring up a couple points I learned from the orientation session in the interview. I work at a job where I could feasibly step away for 2 hours and still be able to catch up. I completely empathize that you may not be able to do that, and I also hate asking for time off when I don't need it. However, I really think it might benefit you to attend the session before your interview. It is not necessary to keep your camera on the whole time. You won't get fired for asking for this time away. People take off a whole day for a routine dentist appointment, you are allowed to do this.
I received an ii on 11/05, interviewed 12/03, waiting on a decision.

Thank you so much for your advice I really appreciate it! My job has a 90-day policy where we’re not supposed to request time off, and I’ve only been there for one week. I was already granted the day off for my actual interview, so it’s been a bit stressful to ask for anything else. But I’m planning to attend the orientation and absorb as much as I can!

Quick question: is the session interactive? Do you have to participate and speak, or is it mostly just listening and taking in the information?
It's just listening. People can unmute to ask questions but you don't have to.

It took 3 months for me as well to get the 'file complete' email. I am freaking out a bit and wondering if I was supposed to reach out to them sooner, rather it being part of a normal process.

I attended the orientation and didn’t receive any confirmation afterward. Did anyone else receive a confirmation message?
No. Also if you logged in as a guest on Webex don't worry about that either. I think they count everyone's attendance manually and you will be fine as long as your name was listed in the meeting.

If there is an accepted student groupme or other messaging platform, I would really appreciate a DM with the link!

Accepted Today !!! Interviewed 12/4. Thank you, everyone, for the interview advice that you have me. I truly appreciate it !!

Hi yall for the student health forms it says it needs to be returned within 2 weeks of your acceptance date. I only received the forms around 1 week ago and I am not sure that I can see my PCP that soon. Does anyone know if this 2 weeks is a hard deadline?

It's been over 2 weeks since my acceptance, but I haven't received any student health forms. Were you emailed them? I wouldn't think it's a hard deadline if they haven't even sent it to everyone yet.

They are very responsive, I would suggest just sending them an email and asking for an extension, they will understand.

Yes the health packet is send via email. They didn’t send me the health packet until more than a month after my acceptance. I would not about it.

My application wasn't fully processed until 2 months after I submitted it. I would wait until December, maybe. I think it's a pretty random process in how they review LORs and your full application, because some other people who submitted their secondaries around the same time as me got completed within 2-3 weeks.
How long after file being complete did you get the interview invite?
