Hi everyone

I took the MCAT recently and got my test scores back -- I got a dismal 21 on it (7/7/7). I still applied to medical schools for this year but I'm planning on taking the MCAT again, especially before the upcoming changes. I'm thinking September or October which gives me about 2-3 months.

I should mention that I haven't taken my pre-reqs in about 4 years and when I did take them I fooled around a bit (except for Orgo I and Chem I, which I took recently and made A's).

Here's what I've done so far over a period of about 5 months:
Read and taken notes on Berkeley review science books
Entire Princeton Review Science workbook
Berkeley Review passages in science books (bio, orgo, chem, phys)
6 berkeley review exams (scored 25-31 on them)
All AAMC exams except the last one (mostly got around 25-27, except for the last one which I got a 20)

Basically, I find myself doing a lot and not getting much in return.
I'm looking for any advice and suggestions on what to work on so I can do really well on the next MCAT.

Thanks for all the help!

You mentioned taking practice exams but how solid was your post-test analysis? This is one of the most important steps in increasing your score. Simply taking the practice testis only the beginning of the process. Breaking down the mistakes into critical thinking vs content helps you see where to focus your energy. Looking at every question you got wrong and coming up with a strategy for next time that will help you avoid the same mistake helps build critical thinking. An extremely targeted and reflective post-test analysis is one of the first things I would recommend in your situation. It will help you to identify where to focus your energy over the next few months.
