Hey Everyone !!

Hope studying is going well. I just finished my dat's and was intrested in selling my dat material. The most helpful thing i used was the Campbells 4th ed. bio textbook, especially beause all of the topscore solutions for bio refrenced to this ed. of the textbook. I got a 23 in bio which was 96th precentile for my particular exam. If you are intrested I could also tell you how to use the textbook to get the most out of it. I also have the kaplan blue book, the workbook, flashcards and quicksheets, as well as barons prep book.
Please email me at [email protected], if you want to purchase any of the above. I promise to give you guys a good price 👍👍

Thanks !!! Good luck everyone 😛

why not just share what you have to help SDNs on how to use campbell book. There is no way you can finish it words by words in a short time.

Thanks

No problem !!

I suggest that everyone who owns the Campbells textbook and has Topscore reads and understands perfectly the answer to the questions and why the other answers are wrong. Topscore tells you what page in the Campbells textbook to find the answer to the question and more details/explanation. Then in the same chapter which topscore referenced, you should answer all of the multiple choice questions that come in the back of that chapter. This REALLLLLY helped me with bio, and gave me a lot of extra practice, even with those random questions that seem like they came from outerspace.

Hope this helps.

Is the "Campbell's Biology book" that everyone talks about by Neil A. Campbell?

I just want to say I got a 23+ and I did not use Campbells. I also want to say that I am not a Bio major and did not even complete the bio series.

I got a 29 in bio I didn't use campbells....I used wikipedia alot and my bio/physio textbook.

You have alot more resources (esp for free on the internet) then you think

Love wikipedia, especially for chemistry. As for campbells, I read several chapters of it side by side with my Raven 8th edition, and I thought the Raven book was far superior. Definitions were clearer, it had a wider variety of questions, and the graphics were better as well. On top of that, the web-site that goes along with the book is just awesome. Videos that describe every process, dozens of questions for each chapter covering every topic, flashcards, etc. At the end of the day you can probably do great with Campbells as your main bio source, but I don't think it is the best.

I got a 24 and didn't really use Campbells. I opened it once or twice...but didn't really get too much out of it.... But thats not to say that reading campbells won't help...its just too dense

Well what did you use? Campbells is not really necessary. I used it for photosynthesis and it did a good job...but that's overkill.

I am a bio major, and as a bio tutor I think the Campbells book is awesome! I didn't get a 29 or 30 in Bio, but I did use the Campbells book for reference and found it to be a great help. However, do not rely on one source of information for any section, especially Bio! There are so many random questions that can be asked, I always recommend starting with the Cliffs AP Bio for a nice, organized review and cleaning anything up with a text, such as Campbells. If you have Destroyer also a great tool! However I feel it's not so much as an informative resource rather than to test your knowledge. After you feel comfortable in the section then I say pick up Destroyer because it can be kind of discouraging.

My first DAT I relied too much on Kaplan and Cliffs, and scored an 18. The after using all the above resources I went from a 18 to a 22. Might not sounds like a big jump for you, but that's somewhere around 35 out of 40 questions correct! The others I got wrong I feel were probably stupid mistakes I looked over due to nerves on the day of the test, nevertheless I was satisfied and have 5 interviews so far! Thanks to all my fellow SDNers, you guys rock!

👍👍👍

Book is overrated. I bought 2 brand new books from a public library. Each for $1. Guess what? One was Campbells and the other one another guy. The other one had words stamped on it saying it was a copy for a professor only (publishers give books away for peer review). These textbooks are thrown away at the end of the year anyway all around the country when the "newer and better" edition comes out every other year. You shouldnt even need to pay more than $5 for one. A lot of school bookstores have a used book recycle area...go check in there.

The other one was better in reference. I never used either one. You can use any bio study guide to read more about it...if anyone is a glutton for punishment....read Shaum's boring ass book. It wont leave you lacking.

I guess people should use what ever book that will allow them to learn best about the subject.😉

Master yourself based on ADA guideline. It is not matter what text book you use. 👍

Even the ada website says they take questions from cambells bio its used as a reference which is rly good but i beleive destroyer bio gives you a lot more in a lot less time even if ur not good at biology those questions should be sufficient enough....M2C
