Honestly this Sim test seemed alot like NBME 6 it actually had one of the same exact questions. For the other who have taken this assesment and taken the real thing do you feel like these corralate.
Good Luck and thanks for your replys!

the sim test is a piece of cr*p and gives u a false sense of security.
i got a 258 on that stupid test. i took it less than a week ago. i took the "easy" nbme 2 today and got in the low 230s, 10 points lower than my original average
for other people, don't waste your money!

Can't tell--but yeah there was a similar question.

I got a 216 on the NBME #6 (was expecting about a 225-235) and a 254 on the UW assessment, so I'm not really sure how to interpret that

do you feel like it correlated, can you discuss the similarities and differences
thanks so much. howd u do on ue nbme?

I thought the questions and difficulty of questions on UW SA were closer to the real thing than the NBME's. I took NBME II at the start of my studying and scored around a 195 or 200, then NBME IV about two weeks out and scored 210 (still hadn't reviewed roughly half the material). I took the UW test 4-5 days before the real thing and, like most of you felt that the UW score was a bit inflated because of the huge jump since my last NBME.

Really, I wouldn't worry too much about trying to anticipate your score. I know it's hard not to but it really isn't that productive and the only score that matters is the one you got on the real thing.

If any one else could post the UW self assesment score along with the NBME as well as the real thing it would be greatly appreciated

I don't think anyone else who took the UW assessment on these forums have received their scores yet, everyone's usually pretty good about answering questions here and when there's no responses I can only assume no one knows (except for one). I guess we can only wait until Wednesday to find out, assuming people post up their experiences.

for me, the UW sim test was very accurate. I took it a week before step one and got a 232, and ended up with a 233 on the real thing. On the sim exam and the real exam, I was checking roughly the same amount of questions in each block.

On SDN, it seems most people feel that nbme 3 is the best predictor. for me nbme 3 was the worst predictor. My most accurate predictor was actually my mcat score plugged into the step one calculator. Here is a quick run down of my different predicted scores...

nbme 5, four weeks out...228
all of usmle world q bank in random blocks, 67% predicting the mid 230's using that 2.3 x % + 84 equation
nbme 3, one week out...244
uw sim exam, one week out...232
mcat score of 30, predicted 233 on the step one calculator.

I know I don't follow the trend at all, so take it for what it is worth. Looking back, I can't believe how much I obsessed over three little numbers!

It overpredicted my score by 10 points... then again NMBE 3 overpredicted my score by 2 points. Just putting that out there to counterbalance all the self-selected posting of underpredictions.

I took the UW SA about 2 weeks prior to the exam and scored a 259. I ended up with a 264 on the real thing. I felt like the questions on UW SA were similar in difficulty to the questions on the actual test.

UW assessment score was 13 points lower than my step 1. I think the extreme scores (250-260) are much harder to predict with NBME's, kaplan, etc.
