Hi everyone,

I need some advice. It’s my second time applying, I was waitlisted last year to one school. I applied broadly both years (12 last year and 14 this year). I had 2 pre December interviews and one post December. I was waitlisted at one of the schools and I haven’t heard back from the other 2. However it looks like their class is starting to fill up. I’m not sure if it’s time to send a letter of intent.

I most likely won’t be applying again next year since I’m not sure how else to improve my app and I’m no longer taking classes/working in dentistry. I don’t really want to do a masters/post bacc because I don’t want to be that much more in debt, and honestly I feel like having gotten interviews this cycle, the issue is most likely my interviews. I’m honestly feeling discouraged and not sure what steps to take from here if I do want to pursue dentistry with out spending more money on schooling.

Stats
GPA/sGPA: 3.2 (3.1)
DAT:
First attempt (AA/TS/PAT): 20/21/20 (16QR)
Second attempt: 20/19/20 (nothing below 18)
Hours:
300+ clinic volunteering
1000+ leadership and volunteering
1200+ dental assisting

GPA is low. If this cycle doesn’t work, I’d recommend a post bacc.

For now, hopefully one of the 3 interviews works out and you won’t have a third cycle.

Had basically the exact same stats as you and got accepted this cycle. Feel free to dm me if you have any questions.

I think you should send letters of intent. Doesn't hurt to try... Hoping you get in this cycle! Good luck
