Hi guys! I flunked my orgo exam and the highest I could possibly get for this class is a C. I want to withdraw from class but the isssue is that last semester I withdrew from orgo. So my question is: what is worse 2Ws or 1W and a C for orgo.

Neither scenario is looking good. With that kind of performance on the first exam, there's no guarantee that you'll even make the C by the end. Orgo builds on itself. What seems to be the problem? Also, why did you withdraw the first time? With no sense of your academic abilities, I'd say plow on through because two Ws on the same weed out pre-med class looks worse than getting a C and then maybe making an A on the next Orgo class (showing improvement).

Are you absolutely committed to getting a C+ Possibly B-? If that is the case I would do that and receive an A in Org 2 and Biochem.

If you are just saying that the best you can get is a C but it will likely be a D or an F I would take the W and get A's all the way through. Either way, work your butt off OP!

Just take the C and move on. Do better next class. You can't know if it'll turn to 2w and a C.

The first time I dropped Orgo was because I wrote the wrong version for Exam 1 accidentally and so I was graded against the wrong answer key. My professor refused to change my grade. This time round, I did good on exam 1 but for exam 2 the class average was 44%. I blanked out during test and scored even lower than the class average. I lost so many points now that even if I ace the next two exams, the best I can pull off is a C

Also, my science gpa doesnt look too good. I got straight B for gen chem and a C for Bio 1. I have no excuse for poor performance. I just didnt study and take the classes seriously... until now. My gers and math gpa is what's saving my grade. My gpa is 3.5 but I plan to turn this around. I am expecting to get 4.0 this semester and A in bio 2. my pre med advisor said that I should take the W as a C would bring my gpa down and I cant afford to screw up anymore

You seem to want to convince us of what you want to do so you'll feel justified. Do whatever you feel is best.

That's true. I really think I should take a W and take Orgo next semester and make sure I ace it. However, a good friend of mine told me that a C looks ten times better than a W.

Is pass/no-credit an option at your school? I think a "Pass" will certainly look better than a W. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

A "W" is better than a "C" because it doesn't get factored into your GPA, but two "W"s in a row for the same class...yeah, not good. Either way, your science grades don't look great at the moment. Go with your gut and try to ace everything from here on out.

If the avg is 44% surely there is a curve. I always curve to at least 50%. Then students are ranked for A,B,C by cut offs.

Take the W's and retake the classes in the summer

My college doesnt offer orgo 1 over summer. Should I epermit else where?
