I will graduate undergrad with a low gpa of 3.1 and an mcat of 33. I have also had to retake orgo 2 about 3 times, but I am really passionate about becoming a doctor and thats what has kept me going. I know that my gpa is low and that there is no excuse for it. I am considering to apply for post bacc and smp. I am not sure which is more beneficial to me or what I should do. Any guidance would be of help. I thank you for taking your time to help.

Apply to 15 schools next cycle and you should be good to go (provided you have some shadowing or clinical volunteering, and sci GPA is above 3.0).

I am basically in the same boat...I have reasons as to why I have a low GPA in which are explainable and oddly enough my low GPA is accounted for in easy classes. I have done better in physics and organic chemistry than I had in freshman biology. I have my EC's to back me up and I am hoping for a high MCAT score (in the practice, I had scored a 32) but since I will be taking the 2015, the old practice exam score may be irrelevant. I will be taking a prep course though and I'm hoping for a high score.
