Hi Guys - new to site, first post, hello! 🙂. So I'm originally from the OC, CA area and went to mid-grade undergrad in Philly where i was not fully interested/invested in pursuing medical school although I was a bio major - got a 3.1 (not interested in getting good grades as i solidified a job my junior year at a major investment bank and couldn't commit to medschool at the time). After graduating I worked full time in NYC which gave me time to experience life and think about medical school. i'm happy to say I quit my job to pursue MedSchool full-time. I've become aware of my low GPA roadblock and my lack of an MCAT score. I'm fairly confident that I can crush the MCAT but I really want to slam dunk my application - Do you guys think I should do a post-bacc before taking the MCAT or apply to DO schools with my low GPA (if i get a banging MCAT score) Thanks for your help community!
P.S. I am moving to Texas to shadow a heart surgeon who will help with a rec and will be volunteering shortly to gain clinical experience
