Hi guys,
I'm wondering what my chances are at US MD schools. I could apply DO, but I want to go into interventional cardiology, and I heard that MDs are more competitive for that specialty. I am a junior right now. I might take a gap year to raise my GPA, actually I probably will, but would I get in any right now? What MD schools can I apply to? I'm planning to apply the new ones like Hofstra and Quinnipac since I would have a higher chance. I go to a top 10 college. I'm also from NY so I'm planning to apply to SUNYs. If I apply to DO schools, which DO schools would I be competitive for, and what kind of DO experience do I need? I'm a little against going into primary care though. Though I definitely want to be a doctor.
Major: Chemistry/biology
cGPA: 3.2
sGPA: 3.1
MCAT - 30 (10/10/10)
Thank you!
