I have 6 publications in genetics and cancer biology, URM, and Texas resident. What are my chances at both MD and DO?

I've applied to all the schools in Texas and to 20 out of state schools. I've been working as a genetic technologist for 1 year shadowing pathologist and developing new test. One more thing that I'm not sure would play into this, but my last 90 hours is a 3.95 gpa and I graduated summa cum laude, because I transferred and did onerous year of college.

I have to amend this post by admitting I didn't see the "URM". With that, you'll be fine at more places, not just DO schools. Good luck!

You definitely have to add 5+ more schools to have a realistic shot.

Well I applied to 25 schools but only 2 DO

I think you have a decent shot at Tx as a URM. I know urms with between a 22 to 27 that land acceptances in Tx, even at the uts. Prob will have to retake if you want an Md oos.

That's what I figure just needed some confirmation. I was so pissed when I got that verbal. Study so hard for the damn test to only be raped by a verbal section!

Oh I didn't see the 6 in V, just assumed a balanced 26. I'm not really too sure of your chances now. I think if you had gotten a 7 or 8 in verbal and 8-10 in the other two you would have been fine for Texas. Unless you are ESL, it'll really be a crapshoot if they cut you slack for a 6.

Yea I've been shooting for DO since I got the 6
