Decided to post here instead. My undergraduate GPA had a downward trend the last 1.5 years due to some medical/mental health issues. After undergrad I was finally diagnosed and treated. Concerned whether my ugpa will hold me back for upcoming MD cycle

Stats:
Nontraditional: 4+ years
Undergrad c/sGPA 3.2-3.3
MPH 4.0
2nd masters: 4.0
MCAT 527
URM( AA)
Other ECs (strong research, few pubs, others are strong)
Shadow/volun (all above avr seeing as how I had the time)
Multilingual (probably not as important but speak 4 lang fluently)

As for school list. I haven't finished yet. (was struggling between deciding to apply or do something to makeup for the ugpa.) All state schools (Tejas) so far as well as a few mid and low tier schools. Should I press my luck with top tiers?

As a URM that low GPA can be forgiven. Especially with the near-perfect MCAT and fluency in four languages to boot. The Masters' degrees don't usually mean much but add to the picture of reinvention that's being painted. Apply to top tier schools - though your GPA is much below median you have a very strong application otherwise. Don't go too top heavy though.

Thanks! Which top school would you suggest that I not apply to?

Would you mind sharing your study plan as to how you got a 527? That’s amazing

You're pretty similar to @elaiho96. He applied ED to Baylor and was accepted back in Oct IIRC. You could go that way as well if you don't wanna go through this brutal process. If not really dedicated to a particular school, apply to schools like @toottoottoot and @m_tsflame

Ya, as long as you can sufficiently address you uGPA during interviews (of which you will have several) then you'll be able to get in anywhere (including Harvard, Stanford, etc.)

Hmm...Do the Masters' degrees count as "reinvention"? Devil's advocate here, it might be that grades are inflated there and there are still doubts about OP's ability to perform well in the classroom.

He was a fairly strong applicant.

To be honest, OP sets off my "not a real person" alarm. Maybe someone who sunk themselves a bit posting about the "What iffs"

Edit: Just noticed the username
