MD & DO 3.37 cGPA, 3.2 sGPA, 30 MCAT

Hi everyone, thank you in advance for taking a look. Here is my information:

-Bio Major
-CA Resident, attended a UC, ORM

-3.37 cGPA
-3.2 sGPA
-30 MCAT (11P/9V/10B)

E.C's and Letters
-Surgical office volunteering with M.D. shadowing 1.5 yrs (250 hrs, good M.D. letter)
-Research assistant, no publications, 1.5 yrs and current (600 hrs, good P.I. letter)
-D.O. family practice shadowing (48 hrs)
-Leadership in an on campus pre-medical organization (3 years total membership, good letter from a philanthropy we fundraised for)
-Secretary of a global medicine club
-Part time tennis instructor for kids (3 summers)
-Average science prof. letters

Submitted primaries early August to:
D.O.
-Tuoro, CA
-Tuoro, NV
-WesternU COMP, Pomona
-WesternU COMP, NW
M.D.
-UC Riverside
-UC Davis
-UC Irvine

Very California-heavy list, I know, but I appreciate any input. Thank you!

Your best MD chances are OOS. Did you do some research in the MSAR?
Do you attend UCR or have evidence of commitment to the inland empire? If not, I don't count any MD schools on your list with even a fair chance at an interview.

I'm sure that your DO chances are better, though...

I do not attend UCR. But you are right, I think it's realistic not to expect much from CA M.D. schools, I'm just being a little greedy by wanting to stay in CA :happy:. Yes, I've looked at the MSAR and I just wanted to get some thoughts before I added some OOS schools, money's tight. I am a little more hopeful about my listed D.O. schools given my stats. Thanks for your honest input!

We've all been there. As long as your DO and OOS choices are good you will have a better chance at a fruitful cycle.

Add a few more DO schools- AZCOM, SOMA, and PNWU would be decent choices.
