Just got my MCAT score yesterday and was very disappointed... 11 V / 8 PS / 10 BS, I have no idea what happened on the physical sciences section, I was scoring in the 11-12 range on practice exams. Only upside is I scored in the 90th percentile in verbal, but that's about it.

I graduated back in 2011 with a BS in Biology from University of Miami (minors in applied math and studio art), 2 years research experience in a transmission electron microscopy lab, experience in evodevo and compbio labs as well (compbio was in an REU summer research program at Pitt, getting a rec from my former PI there). Last semester was also disappointing because of some personal troubles that were out of my hands and which I talk about in my personal statement.

Went on a youth medical relief trip to Haiti back in March and loved it, would really like to do a tour with Doctors w/o Borders someday (already started learning French!). Been working in a cheminformatics lab at UM's med school for the last year and just about to get published (manuscript will be accepted after some revisions). Took Organic Chem 2 last month (summer session at UM) and got A's, taking biochem (UM) as well as starting an EMT program this semester, not going to get less than an A in those as well.

I have my application ready to send just wanted some feedback and maybe some advice on some other schools to apply to. These are the schools on my list so far, all my state schools and some others, going to add more before I submit. At this point I just want to get into medical school, no preference. I wasn't planning on applying to DOs but I think I will now.

FL: FIU, FAU, UF, UM, FSU, USF, UCF
MD: Uniformed Services U
NY: Hofstra
PA: Drexel
DC: GWU
CA: Keck
AZ: UA-Tucson

PS
I plan on applying to the military's HPSP scholarship if/when I get accepted, really interested in trauma and emergency medicine and think it'll be a great opportunity. Don't care about the 4 years active duty commitment, my grandfather was in the army (albeit in another country) so it runs in the blood 😉

THANKS FOR READING ALL THAT!

Filling out the 2013 DO app now, these are the schools so far mostly by states I can see myself living in, any thoughts? ANYONE????!

AZ: AT Still U; Midwestern U
FL: Bradenton; Nova
PA: Lake Erie; Philadelphia
NY: NYIT; Touro College
WA: Pacific NWUHS
CO: Rocky Vista U
CA: Touro U; Western UHS

Suggest deleting U AZ, especially if you not an AZ native, and USC. You'll probably have good luck with Creighton, Rosy Franklin and NYMC. You're fine for all of the Do schools you listed.

Do some careful research and ask if you're really competetive for the FL schools. I suspect you'll better luck with some but not all of them.
