Took the MCAT August Sept 2015 and scored a 507. Retook it April 22nd scored a 506 and am very disappointed. Not sure whether its worth it to apply now, only considering MD as I haven't shadowed DO doctors yet. I'm a caucasian male from the suburbs of Chicago.

I've added my background, what do you think?

Your chances for a MD acceptance are 33% according to the GPA-MCAT grid. However, that includes applicants with graduate degrees and from states that accept many of their own resident so your odds are less than that. You could try some MD schools such as Loyola, Rosalind Franklin, Rush, U of I-Chicago, Oakland Beaumont, Western Michigan, Creighton, EVMS, Medical College Wisconsin, New York Medical and Quinnipiac. Avoid the OOS public schools such as North and South Dakota and Central Michigan. You are competitive for most DO schools so find out which ones do not require a DO LOR and apply to at least 10. You could also shadow a DO in the next 2 months and apply DO in August which is not late for DO schools.

Where is this GPA/MCAT grid, the only one I found was for 2012
Thanks!

You are a good DO candidate and marginal for MD in general.

Any clinical volunteering, OP? If none, you app is lethal.
As a teaching moment, you need to show Adcoms that you know what you're getting into, and that you really want to be around sick people for the next 30-40 years.

You have no business applying to the Dakota schools anyway, or SIU.
