Fringe MD candidate, (self-perceived) good DO candidate

3.5 GPA, no trend
3.4 sGPA, upward trend
514-517 range MCAT
Not URM

150+ clinical volunteering hours across hospitals, clinics, nursing homes
100+ shadowing hours across a range of specialties
500+ hours research across two labs, no posters/pubs
400+ nonclinical volunteering hours across several underprivileged communities with several nonprofits.*
LoR: range from good to amazing

ECs/work: Several organizations that encompass a diverse range of fields (nothing nationally recognized). Two organizations with a significant leadership position each. Accumulated over 1000+ hours with these two specific leadership positions alone.*
TA for a STEM course
Some work-study jobs

*selling myself short for anonymity

If anybody has suggestions for other schools, especially those receiving under 10000+ apps please let me know

Need many more. Is there an MSAR equivalent for DO schools?

End goal: Apply to 35 schools total, 25-30 MD and 5-10 DO. My app has a particular focus in both minority and underprivileged communities and, because I imagine fit is a very important variable, I tried to reflect part of my list on this criteria, however given my GPA I know I still need to cast a wide net.

Preferences: preference to stay on the coasts or within major cities. I understand how stressful medicine can be and have support networks in majority of these areas.

Thank you for reading!

You should receive some MD interviews with your stats. You could add schools such as:
Quinnipiac
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Medical College Wisconsin
Penn State
St. Louis
Creighton
any new schools that open for 2018 (Seton Hall, Roseman, etc.)

Thank you for the reply. So it looks like my GPA is below the 10th percentile for some of these schools. Will it still be ok to add these schools?
