Applied early (June 1st), Strong Letters of Recommendation, Strong Personal Statement & Optional Essay, Strong Extracurriculars, Weak Secondary Applications (?)

I am also involved in a few other things that I did not mention, and I'm starting in a Clinical Neuroscience Lab and working at a campus mental health center in the fall. I am applying to all 9 schools in Texas, including TCOM and Baylor. What do you think my chances are? I am worried about my grades and MCAT score as well as my possibly weak secondaries. I just received an interview invitation from TCOM, but I have heard nothing from any of the other schools. I have sent in all my applications except the Baylor secondary, which opens in a couple days, and the waiting is making me so anxious. 🙁

Not to be an idiot, but how are you getting secondaries/interviews already?

It's still early -- Why do you suggest your secondaries are weak?

As far as interview timing goes, the general tendency seems to be for the 'best fit' schools to want to interview you earlier -- that is, the schools who want you the most and who think they've got a good shot at attracting you. So expect to hear from Paul Foster, TX Tech, and A&M relatively soon, UTMB and UTHSCSA a bit later, and maybe/maybe not from UTH, UTSW and Baylor.

With my secondaries, I guess I was just a little burned-out from working so hard on the rest of my application (along with the fact that I am taking 15 hours of classes this summer) that I didn't focus as much on them as I should have. It was definitely a mistake, and I should have prioritized them a little better.

And thanks for the info about interview timing! Hopefully I hear from them soon. I just know that they have all been received and are being reviewed soon.
