Hey guys! So far I've applied to 22 schools; however, I want to apply to a total of 30 schools. I wanted to know what you guys thought about my schools list and whether it's balanced or not. I am near Philadelphia, PA and prefer to stay close to this region. Any advice helps, thanks y'all!
Me: Graduated 2018, Female, ORM, PA Resident
MCAT: 518 (130, 127, 130, 131)
cGPA: 3.70 (Huge upward trend from freshman year where I started off with a 3.0, near the end of sophomore year I got a 4.0 every term up until graduation)
sGPA: 3.65
Research:
- Conducted 1 year of cancer research at a top 10 cancer research institute
- Currently conducting neuroscience research at my university (1 year)
- No abstracts/posters/publications thus far
Clinical Experiences:
- EMT with my collegiate EMS team (150 hours)
- Bedside Buddy at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (50+ hours)
Shadowing:
- GI (50 hours)
- Cardiology ER (15 hours)
Non-clinical volunteering:
- Middle school tutor for underprivileged students (150 hours)
- Science Club Tutor to underprivileged middle school students (50 hours)
Other extracurricular activities:
- Social Chair of Phi Delta Epsilon (1 year)
- Water President of Global Brigades (1 year)
