Would medical schools highly favor 3.9 GPA applicant over 3.8 GPA applicant? Is 0.1 point GPA huge difference that would affect adcom's decisions?
Or Are they considered to be equally academically qualified by most schools?

Pretty sure I very recently read a thread here on SDN that specifically stated a 3.8/3.9 really isn't looked at much differently at all.

The MSAR gives you all of the information you need to interpret how an individual school might look upon your GPA. That’s the only answer here. Impossible to make blanket generalizations with points this granular. The better way to say this might be: one number doesn’t sink or make an app, but a combination of numbers can. How much, why, and what can only be answered on a school by school basis.
