Howdy. Can you guys help?
I am a traditional Texas student with following stats.
cGPA 3.97 and sGPA 3.9
MCAT 511 (127/129/125/130)
Ethnicity : non URM
Research : None as of yet. I have research lined up for summer.
Non clinical Volunteer: ~800 Hours
Clinical : Paid ~900 Hours
Officer in school club
Shadowing : 10 Hours
TMDSAS opens today and I am left with some questions.

Should I take a gap year to build up my research hours?
Should I bother with AMCAS next month for other OOS schools? If so, should I include Baylor(Far reach) as part of State school?
What other schools should I consider?
I am finishing my undergrad in 3.5 years and I am only 21 years old.
Will my age have negative impact on my credentials?

Thank you in advance for all your advise.

I'd be interested to hear from ADCOMS about this as well but I'll give it a whirl.

You have decent stats for low and mid tier MD schools and probably all DO schools. You have decent clinical and non-clinical work (what exactly is it?) in terms of hours.

Research is NOT, I repeat, NOT, necessary for admission to medical school. Clinical, non-clinical, shadowing, that's almost certainly required but research is only big if you want to go to a top tier medical school, which right now doesn't look like will be very probable in your case. But that's ok; research won't make you a doctor.

If you apply to all your Texas schools in TMDSAS this month then you should receive several interviews. You do not need to apply to OOS schools. Another 40 hours of physician shadowing would help.

Thank you for your advice
At this time, I have another question. Should I apply to newly accredited TCU/UNTHSC? They app cycle opens in 9 days. I have received 6 interviews and attended all. I am waiting pre-match announcement on November 15.
