Hello!
I am currently finishing up my second semester and am trying to figure out my schedule for next year. I am a Cell and Molecular Bio and Biomedical Science major with a chemistry minor. (Sounds like more than it is because a lot of the classes overlap). Next winter I have BIO 375/376 (Genetics with lab), BMS 290/291 (Human Physiology with lab), CHM 242 (Orgo 2 with lab), and MTH 125 (survey of calc), 15 credits total. I am not concerned with the math class as much as the the three sciences with three labs. I was just wondering if anyone has taken similar classes at the same time and has any advice to offer about taking 3 labs in one semester. The most I have taken at once is two labs and it wasn't to bad.
Thanks in advance!!

I would not recommend that combo since all those labs are time sinks and you only have so much time in a week to keep up with your other courses. Can you take the lab components in a different semester? If so I would recommend pushing back the physio lab

I did 3 labs at once last semester and it was absolutely awful. It was one of my easier semesters, but it was undoubtedly the most boring.

I can push physiology back and I would be taking it the same semester as Orgo 1, and then I would take genetics, orgo 2 and cadaver lab the next semester. It is still three labs but the cadaver lab is much less pressure/workload than physiology/lab and it is only one credit vs physiology and lab which is 4! Thank you so much for your reply!!

Depending on how hard you want to push yourself and how much/little free time you want, you'll be fine. Because you asked about taking three labs, I will offer up my schedule for last semester: I did pchem with lab, achem with lab, anatomy with lab, an upper-level chem course, and an upper-level bio course (17 credits) along with TAing an organic lab, ~10 hrs research/week, and sorority. Like, I'm not here to advocate that it was the best life decision, but I will say that it was doable, I did manage to pull a 4.0 that semester, and I still had a fairly okay social life with the (few hours I had) each week. I just had to make them count... because I do mean just about 3 hours each week. I generally arrived at campus at 9-10am and left by 10-12 each night, and spent most of Saturday in the library.
