Hey guys! I am taking the DAT this summer. I am starting this discussion because I am going on a study abroad trip for 3.5 weeks and was wanting to take the DAT before I leave, which will only give me three weeks to study. I could take it when I return but I would rather take it before. I won't return until June 29 and so I wouldn't have that much time to study and finish applying. What do you all think? Is 3 weeks enough or should I wait until I come back? For a little background info, I have a 4.0 science GPA (a 3.9 accumulative) and I will be finishing organic chemistry this semester. I have made at least a 98 in the majority of my science classes, but have not had a math class since my senior year of high school. I will have finished all "pre-reqs" for the DAT after this semester. Thanks!

I studied for roughly 3 weeks! Got a decent score (AA 21 TS 21 PAT 22). I know a guy who scored AA 25 after studying for three weeks. It is definitely doable with the right mindset and a strong determination.

When you studied for 3 weeks, did that include learning the material as well as practice problems? How many hours/day did you do as well?

Yes, that included learning the material as well. Maybe not PAT because I started playing around with that a long time before I started studying for the DAT. Each day, I began studying right around 8 am and went to bed around 11. It wasn't straight up studying for 15 hours, of course; I still worked out everyday, took a few breaks here and there..it was still pretty depressing regardless, lol. I didn't take a single day off.

I am starting my DAT study journey in 2 days and first I thought that no one can do 3 weeks. Hence, I decided to dedicate 6 weeks for it . now , I am super bumped and I wanna kill it in 3 weeks.
Go for it. Stay focused and let us know how it goes.

What was your schedule like? I'm starting 5/3/1 wendler and DAT studying on the same day. haha

I got a 21AA and 21TS with only 3 weeks to study! If you really put your mind to it you can do it! Good luck! It all paid off too I'm moving in for dental school this July. If you have any questions let me know. I studied between 6-9 hours daily.

I'm so glad to hear that! I start my 3 weeks tomorrow. I am planning reviewing information the first week and then starting practice tests the next week. Did you make out a study plan and if you did would you happen to still have it? I would like to just see how you used your time. Thanks!

So I am scheduled to take my test next Tuesday and I am not feeling very good about it. I am scoring 19-20 on Bootcamp, but I have yet to take a QR test because it freaks me out the most. I am tempted to reschedule my exam to the end of July/beginning on August. I will have three weeks where I won't be able to study between now and then (due to study abroad trip that I will return from on June 26). What do y'all think? Should I change the date or is that too late of a test date? Is 19/20 okay to be scoring on Bootcamp? My goal is a 21+ on the DAT (or a 30 obviously but I'm being realistic for my situation lol) and would be okay with a 20, I guess. Help, please!

In my opinion bootcamp was harder than the actual thing. However it should be used to learn more than measure where you are. Qr is probably the least important section and easiest to learn in my opinion (except maybe reading) if you were to spend a couple days going through math destroyer you'd be okay.

Ultimately though if you were to get a 19 or 20 (like you are with bootcamp) and you are happy with that I'd say go for it. If not though then you will have to take it in a couple of months because you'd have to re study a lot when you got back from your trip and take another couple of weeks to prepare.

Yeah if you're hitting 19-20 on Bootcamp you'll likely break 20 in the real exam. The QR was very basic on the real test plus it holds the least weight for admissions so just go on and take it. Then you can enjoy your study abroad trip

I have decided to reschedule. I am solid in biology and organic, but want to work more on the other sections to try and score above 19/20. Is July 29 too late?

It's not late but it's not early either. It takes a couple weeks for your DAT scores to be uploaded so your application would probably get reviewed mid-late August

I am sorry if I am posting on a wrong thread. But can somebody please answer this attached question? C2F54D3A-45CE-4332-B212-444C8D5CC524.jpeg
