I have exactly 30 days until I take Step 1. I am doing UW questions 6 hours a day plus 6 hours of First Aid/RR Path per day. As I get closer to the test, I will do more UW and less reading.

However, I can't decide how much RR Path I should devote time to. It seems to be time consuming. Since I only have one month left, how much time should I spend reading RR Path? Any suggestions or experience?

Is this ur 1st pass? How much reading do u have left? What's ur overall preparedness especially with other subjects?

Reading something as dense as RR in the last 30 days, doesn't seem very HY to me, but only you know ur needs...

GL:luck:

I agree...I myself only had around 40-something days [17 days left...ahh!!] and it definitely is difficult to fit in RR Path, FA, and UWorld. I've found that listening to Goljan Audio during mealtimes/reviewing the blue high yield notes in RR Path is sufficient to understand the main points. I would suggest trying that. If you find that there are certain path questions that you keep getting incorrect in UWorld tests, then set aside time to thoroughly read those sections in RR Path.

Perhaps look into pathoma as a source and use rapid review only on topics you need help on. Pathoma videos can be finished in a week watching at regular speed and then you can read the book while supplementing it with fa and uworld.

Thanks for the replies. I am leaning towards only reading RR chapters relating to my "problem areas" of pathology. It is my first time using RR Path, but I've already gone thru the CV and Pulmonary chapters, as well as the first two chapters b/c they are so fundamental. Any other chapters that I should read?

Well, I just bought Pathoma. I know I only have 29 days left, but I think I can get through a good portion of Pathoma when I'm not doing UWorld. May end up being a waste of money, but at least I'll get some benefit, and I won't wonder "what if". I still can't decide how to split time between material review and doing Qbank.

RR Pathology is dense and overkilled because it is Pathology integrated with other subjects like a bit of Micro, a bit of Pharm, or clinical medicine...If you filter out all those parts and only read for Patho, it is not more than Pathoma. Why don't you go for UW Pathology or BRS pathology? Just a thought.
