Hi everyone, I know there have been plenty of questions going around about the May 19th MCAT, but I'm in somewhat of a different situation. This was my third time taking the MCAT (twice in 2010), and I was hoping for a higher score especially since my practice AAMC scores were 31+. This is the breakdown of what will be on my AMCAS:

2010 Scores:
31R- 12P-7V-12B
27R- 9P-9V-10B
(these were taken within less than a month of each other--very poor decision on my part)

2012 Score:
30P- 12P-8V-10B

GPA--3.61 (both cGPA and sGPA)

2011-Present: Research Coordinator at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
2009-2011: Emergency Medical Technician in Newtown CT
2009-2011: Research Assistant at Danbury Hospital CT
2009-2010: Research Assistant for Marine Bio at Stony Brook University

I'm a bit upset that I couldn't do better than my first score, but I am happy that I could show that my second score was a fluke (especially in the physical sciences). The only reason I took this test a third time was so that I could show medical schools that I'm more of a 30+ candidate for the MCAT. I'm definitely still going to apply for 2013 because I believe that I have a shot. I just wanted to know if anyone had some input on my chances of getting into medical school with these circumstances. Thanks!

Perhaps I'm overly critical, but I don't see how a 30 after getting a 31 and a 27 shows that a 27 isn't a fluke. Also, I don't know how retaking it twice and scoring lower than your original score both times shows that you are a 30+ candidate. More specifically your BS score went down since the first on and never went up again.

Are those your only ECs? No shadowing or volunteering?

if you are not aiming for the tops ones. then i think your gpa/mcat is fine. do some medical related volunteering and shadowing(at a local doctor/hospital) and you will be good to go.

your best chance will be the state where you paid your taxes. i think most state schools take your highest mcat score,,maybe contact them and see.
