Been lurking on this site for a while, but now that I am applying, I thought I might ask for some advice. I got a 32R on the MCAT (10/11/11), 3.98 science GPA, and a 3.97 overall. I think I have okay ECs. Ive been volunteering for 2 years at a hospital, with shadowing and LORs from the MDs. Ive been doing clinical research for 1 year now. Got inducted into Phi Beta Kappa (if that counts for anything to med schools), and have both played and coached hockey (not ncaa though).

I know my GPA is high enough for most schools, but the 32 on the mcat worries me a bit. My school list includes all NY schools plus some out of state ones (Jefferson, Rush, Rosalind Franklin, Georgetown, Temple, Wake Forest, Drexel, Mayo, GW, Loyola, St. Louis, BU).

Any advice on my chances to NY schools and these schools listed? Or maybe some schools that I havent listed that are worth applying to?

You have a very good shot at some of the NY schools like NYMC and the SUNYs. Mt Sinai, Columbia and Cornell much more of a reach however. The rest of your OOS schools also seem to match up well with your stats. You seem to have a good list going on.

Thanks for the advice!

And yea, I know Columbia, Mt. Sinai, etc are going to be pretty tough to get into, as they always are. Hopefully, I get lucky 🙂
