I didn't do as well as I wanted on my Step II CK. When do programs find out how an applicant did on Step II...before or after the match? Thanks much
THanks dc2md. On my eras I did NOT authorize to retransmit scores when they become available. So now what does that mean in terms of programs getting the step II score. Will it be before or after the match? Thanks again
This all depends on if you are an AMG or IMG. American medical graduates typically don't need their step 2 CK scores before the match. IMGs are pretty much required to have them by rank order time. Program directors don't want to take the risk of match with an IMG that then fails the CK later and can't get their ECFMG certificate until after July 1st. The pass rate for IMGs on CK is much lower than AMGs.
So as long as you don't release the grades to the programs, they won't get them. If you're an IMG, you'd better release them no matter what the passing score is.
and u pretty much cant get an iview with just a s1 score if ur img🙂
granted. but im guessing u probably dont need a visa🙂
i hope more pour in as ppl start cancelling and u get ur s2. otherwise im sure 11 is way more than enuf for psych. may the force be with u🙂
If you choose not to release your USMLE scores, when should/must you do so?
I'm wondering if programs will eventually know your Step 2 CK score. Do you have to submit it to them once matched? Or just as long as they know you passed it minus the score? Cuz I don't see myself matching my Step 1 score at all (maybe time investment🙄). I'd kind of hate to be looked down upon because Step 2 wasn't as hot as Step 1.
That's exactly what I meant. If you chose not to release the subsequent scores, when are you suppose to release them (I assume beyond Feb. 21st)? Or do you do nothing and they automatically get transmitted at some point after the rank lists are due or the match?
When you apply. You can't change what you did later.
You can go to ERAS and resubmit your USMLE transripts with the new scores, can't you?
Even so, PDs are protected by the NRMP. If an IMG does not have ECFMG verified status by the ROL deadline, the NRMP will automatically withdraw them from the match.
Agreed.
