Hi everyone.
Thank you for everyone who contributes regularly to SDN, you know who you guys are! 🙂
I know it is really vague information given that this is just one aspect of the cycle (a big aspect though..) but I wanted to hear if this score is a doable score for dental school and whether you recommend a third DAT ... I have an overall increase, and got 20s and above in all subjects except in math which I completely ruined! I know it sounds like a lame excuse but I had an acid reflux near the end of my test, I guess the stress of taking the test was worse than I thought :'( This never happened to me before! I would have gotten at least an 18 without studying anything so I'm really upset...Do you recommend a third retake? I heard a third DAT is a bad idea unless I am confident that I could get a huge jump in score. I'm only confident that my math will increase back to my normal score but I'm not sure about the rest..also I feel that it wouldn't affect my AA that much even if I were to get the same scores across the board with my math increased. I was definitely aiming for 22-23 to be realistic, and luckily I don't think my math score affected my academic average much but let me know your thoughts 🙁 I had about an equal number of decreased and increased scores on each section. I'm scared that I will automatically be eliminated from a pool of applicants just because of the cut off score 🙁
Stats:
2 dental publications, leadership positions
Division 1 school ivy league athlete
I have a 3.3 science GPA and 3.5 overall GPA, upward trend-ish, but not a science major, only minor
First time & Second Time respectively
Decreased:
PAT: 21---> 20
QR: 19 --->16**** yikes 🙁
Orgo 23---> 22
Increased
RC: 17---> 22
Bio: 18 --->21
GenChem 16 --->22
Total Science 18 --->21
Academic Avg 19 ---> 21
Thank you so much! Any opinion would be much much appreciated!
