If I take DAT for third time, and I get around 18-19. Will I have chance as people who get 18-19 on the first time to get in dental schools? There're a lot people have been accepted as taking DAT three times?😕:scared:

I am soo glad I never have to take the DAT again! Most schools either look at your most recent or your highest score so dont worry too much about it being your 3rd time. best of luck to you!

i do not have an answer on your question, but good luck

Most schools look at your highest scores. Plus if you improve the third time that just shows that you are dedicated and willing to do what it takes.

If you decide to take it a 3rd time, I would shoot a lot higher than 18-19. As adcom, I would personally want to see 20's by the 3rd time.

Yea, I'd be aiming for 20+ if it was my third try. Take about 3 months off and really focus on studying for the DAT if you're worried about it. Get as much practice in as you can...kaplan subject tests, achiever, topscore, destroyer, crack dat pat.

Otherwise, if you bomb the third attempt....you're SOL since most schools have a max 3 attempts for the DAT.

not to pressure, but the ADA only allows you to take the DAT 3 times before you need to petition for another chance. so please study and rock it, then get accepted.

good luck 👍

My guess: it's your RC score that's holding you back. 😀

What are your stats? Depending on your whole application package (ie. GPA, community service, dental experience, LOR's, BA/BS degree) an average DAT score might not be that bad. Some schools will overlook a 17 if you're an otherwise stellar applicant.

The trick is to look at what you have to offer and target the schools that want those qualities in a prospective student.

I got in after taking it twice and a friend of mine got in after taking it three times and he got into multiple schools so study hard and get a great score this time and you will be fine.

i dont know what your previous score is but when i spoke to some deans in person, they urged me not to take the DATs again. they said that we see this all the time and RARELY does anyone ever score higher the 3rd time around. they also told me that i would be risking my whole career and too big of a risk. luckily i got accepted b4 i took the DAT again. try a masters to boost your application.
