I have an interview with UC-Irvine post-bac program. has anyone being through this program? please your advice is needed regarding how to prepare. Also it would be my 3rd crack at the mcat, i need all suggestions possible.

Thanks

You know what? I've been calling the schools and most don't seem to care if you take it a third time. Just call around to the schools you're interested in and make sure they aren't averaging the scores by the time you take it a third time, you know? No need to waste money that way.

I've heard lots of success stories regarding pple who took their mcat 3x. If anyone asks you why you took it 3 times, just be prepared to answer the question. But I dont think many schools will ask. Maybe 1 out of the 15 or so you apply to anyway.

And as long as you're showing improvement. Some schools will take the highest score out of each section. Some schools will take the highest overall score. Some actually take the most recent score, so you are hurt if your score drops. Most of the schools I called take the most recent score, but just call the ones you're interested in and see what they say.

There is this awesome book in your pre-health office called the Premed Adviosr Reference Manual or whatnot. I just sat down with my advisor and together we looked up the schools I was interested in. It tells you exactly what the school does with previous mcats. It really is a great resource.

Of course there is hope for you!!! 😀 Perseverence goes a long way! The post bacc at Irvine sounds like it really helps their students so good luck on the interview! :luck: :luck:

Plus, 3rd times the charm! 👍
